Welcome to University of Toronto!
Welcome and congratulations on selecting University College at the University of Toronto as your home for the next four (or more!) years! For over 150 years, UC has made a name for itself through our academic excellence, openness to diversity, and focus on student involvement. Orientation week (or Frosh week) is your official welcome to your new life here at UC! This five day long program is completely student run, and so we know about all the stress first year university can cause. The purpose of frosh week is to help make the transition into university as smooth and fun as possible!
Something every first year should know about orientation is that it is not at all about initiations or hazing. It is actually a week of fun, including social and academic events for all first year students. By participating in orientation week, you will be able to familiarize yourself with the St. George campus and Toronto in general. It’s also the perfect opportunity to meet new people and start making life-long friends!
If the week seems too long, we encourage you to sign up for our shortened orientation week, Frosh on the Fast Track (FOTFT) for a 2-day experience running from September 4th to September 5th. You can find more information on FOTFT by clicking here!
Every year over 550 students from University College and 10,000 students from the University of Toronto participate in frosh week, making it one of the most incredible times of your life. It gives the perfect foundation for a rich social and academic life at UC!
We know this can be an exciting and stressful time for first year students – so if at any point you have any questions, feel free to email us at uc.orientation@utoronto.ca.
We look forward to seeing you in September!
Natalia Jankowski & Susan Graham
