Grad Formal 2010, titled Denouement, will be on March 19th at The Arcadian Court (401 Bay Street) from 7pm-12am.

Denouement is the resounding conclusions to the intricate details of our lives here at University College. So, let’s leave our beloved college with class, style and little of that beloved UC spirit at this year’s 2010 Graduate Formal!!!!!!!

The evening’s program is as follows:

7:00pm – Reception (hors d’oeuvres)
8:30pm-9:30pm – 4 course dinner (soup, salad, entrée (w/ vegetarian option), dessert (w/ tea/coffee, after dinner hors d’oeuvres)
9:30pm-12:00am – Dance (live DJ)

*Speeches and Awards will be given between courses
*Host bar open throughout the night

We will be having a semi-formal to celebrate YOU, the athletes. There will be a full buffet dinner, awards for individual teams, as well as overall athletic awards. This will also be a licensed event with a cash bar.

ONLY $5.00 for a full sit down dinner, as well as awards, prizes and giveaways!

Tickets are on sale in the UC Lit office from 10am-4pm, as well as 5-7 pm outside Fung everyday until next Saturday. There is a limit of 100 people, so get your tickets quick!

It is a team of 180 leaders, creating a home for 600 frosh, and giving them one of the most memorable weeks of their lives.

UC 2010: License to Thrill is looking for students to become Orientation leaders to help run a week of adventure, excitement, and introductions to UC.

So what is a frosh leader you ask? We’re looking for leaders to have the following roles during the summer and the week itself:

1. Be present at the events they are assigned to help with, but also attend all frosh events.
2. Take active roles in being part of frosh week from the moment they are hired.
3. Practice self-care and encourage safety throughout the week.
4. Actively participate in training.
5. Appreciate that when co-chairs or exec tell them to do something, it is for the overall interest and safety of the group, and that they will not abuse this (and therefore it should be heeded).
6. Have positive attitudes towards their fellow leaders (in their house and others), and other frosh constituents.
7. Have an ability to handle difficult situations throughout the week.
8. Be mindful of diverse attitudes and personalities towards frosh week.
9. Support other leaders and work as a team.
10. Remember that frosh week is about the frosh.
11. Be good role models!

GET EXCITED!!!! 6 MONTHS TILL FROSH WEEK!

Applications are available in the UC Lit Office and the UC Registrar’s Office.

Scholarships will be awarded for involvement in the UC community, the U of T community and the city of Toronto respectively. Applications will consist of an application form to detail involvement during the 2009-2010 academic year only.

Applications are due to the UC Lit Office by Thursday, March 18th at 4:00 pm.

UC Off-Campus Commission and UC Community Outreach Commission are teaming up to bring you 31 hours of fun!

Ask your family and friends to sponsor you to go without eating for 31 hours and come join us for a fun filled, foodless sleepover in the JCR. Activities will include a guest presentation from The Stop about food security in Toronto, movies and board games. On Saturday to break the 31 hour famine we will all go to The Red Room for a subsidized meal!

All pledges will be donated to The Stop Community Food Centre, a local organization committed to promoting food security in Toronto. Pick up your pledge forms from the UC Lit Office or from the CSC!

TV, Xbox, Board Games, Study time (anything relaxing and fun!)
5:30 Walk over to Red Room for Dinner!

Yet another epic Pub Crawl is coming your way! Come celebrate St. Patty’s day early by joining us as we go to … not one, not two, but FIVE pubs in one night.

Signups for t-shirts will be held in the UC Lit office from February 24th – March 3rd from 10am to 4pm. Signup is $10.00 and will include cover to all the pubs. Space is limited! T-shirts will be available for pickup in the Lit office the day of the event (Mar 11th).

This is a 19+ event and valid ID must be presented upon entering each pub for entry.
